USA today has recently released a list of the Healthiest Communities in the United States, and two Colorado communities made the list. Coming in at #5 was Broomfield. Located just 31 miles northwest of Denver and provides residents with over 8,000 acres of private and public open space, 281 miles of trails and 700 acres of developed parks. Topping the list, is a county south of Denver – Douglas County.
Douglas County is one of Colorado’s largest counties and offers residents several open space trails, parks and bike paths. A popular hiking destination is Castlewood Canyon State Park. Hiking trails lead outdoor enthusiasts through a beautiful canyon with rock climbing and spectacular views.
